Amin Anjomshoaa takes up his work as new Studio Director

The RSA FG studios Data Science (DSc) and Smart Digital Industries and Services (SDIS) have a new Studio Director: Amin Anjomshoaa, senior researcher at the WU Vienna, takes over from Stefan Gindl. Gindl will still work as a key research engineer for both studios.

With September 2024, Amin Anjomshoaa begins his role as Studio Director for both the Data Science Studio in Vienna and the SDIS Studio in Lower Austria. He also serves as a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Data, Process, and Knowledge Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna). Anjomshoaa is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow and an Erwin Schrödinger Fellow, bringing extensive experience as a researcher and project lead at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he worked from 2014 to 2019.

Prior to that, he served as an assistant professor and director of the Linked Data Lab at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Vienna). Amin Anjomshoaa earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Vienna University of Technology in 2009. He holds dual Master’s degrees in Software Engineering & Internet Computing (2005) and Information Management (2007), both from the Vienna University of Technology. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Kerman, Iran. His research interests include Semantic Web, Knowledge Graphs, Data Analytics, Smart Cities, IoT, and Machine Learning.
