Best Paper Award for multi-sensor teaching station in Spain
Alois Ferscha, Benedikt Gollan (middle photo), Michael Haslgrübler and Josef Heftberger were recently presented with a Best Paper Award at the fifth International Conference on Physiological Computing Systems (PhyCS) in Seville, Spain. The program committee honored the publication “Making Sense: Experiences with Multi-Sensor Fusion in Industrial Assistance Systems”. You can download the .pdf file HERE.
From real to digital foreman: In the paper, researchers from the “Pervasive Computing Applications” (PCA) studio describe what a multi-sensor teaching station must look like and how it can improve the training of new employees on complex machines. For example, an eye-tracking system can measure gaze recordings, and the learner is shown a suitable learning video on his or her data glasses at a point where he or she is at a loss.
The PhyCS in Seville is one of the most important conferences on Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI) worldwide. The PCA team has already prototyped its application for the customer Fischer Sports.
