Consider “storage rooms for energy use” in spatial planning
Renewable energies will play a decisive role in the future society of the 21st century. Different renewable energy sources require a balanced and carefully planned use, as they pose the challenge of maintaining a balanced supply and the stability of the grid due to high temporal and spatial variability.
The article by Univ. Prof. Dr. Thomas Blaschke and his team examines the possibilities of modelling the future of “energy landscapes” in space and time and calls for “storage spaces for energy use” to be considered in spatial planning, especially for biomass. Read the entire Elsevier article HERE.
