Gabriele Kotsis becomes president of the Association for Computing Machinery on 1 July 2020
The honorary chairwoman of the scientific advisory board of the RSA FG Mrs. Gabriele Kotsis will take over the presidency of a worldwide computer society – the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) – as of July 1, 2020.
ACM is regarded worldwide as the most important scientific association in computer science.
Prof. Kotsis was chairperson of the scientific advisory board of the RSA FG from 2008-2018 and continues to hold the honorary chair today.
As university professor for computer science and board member of the Institute for Telecommunications at JKU, she has intensively accompanied the scientific and research development of the RSA FG in the areas of the Research Studios Pervasive Computing, MicroLearing and Information Environments.
At present, her attention is mainly focused on the scientific development of the Mobile Knowledge Lab, where she is thankfully involved in the supervision of an industrial dissertation on mobile social learning.
