Research Studio iSPACE wins innovative residential construction research project.
Three housing research projects were selected for funding in the current call for proposals by the State of Salzburg. Among them is the innovative project of the research studio iSPACE zur:
” Standardised recording of the location quality for the new housing promotion scheme. The current priorities in housing research attempt to identify different solutions for cost-effective construction and for mobilising building land reserves through redensification”,
emphasized Hans Mayr, member of the state housing council, on Thursday, February 11. More information HERE. In the new housing promotion scheme of the State of Salzburg, bonus points can be earned for location qualities – such as availability of public transport, supply facilities, educational offers, care facilities or medical practices. Up to now, however, this location information cannot be stored in a standardised way in the application for funding. Within the framework of the research study, iSPACE is developing models that will enable an automated standardized provision of the relevant location factors for the state of Salzburg.
“The increased consideration of location qualities such as the connection of the residential location to an efficient public transport system or a good walking distance to shopping and supply possibilities is very important for an energy- and resource-saving settlement development, for a containment of urban sprawl, as well as to ensure the quality of life for future generations The study is to be completed by the end of the year and is of particular importance due to a possible further development of support mechanisms and the potential for a transfer to other federal states”.
says Dr. Thomas Prinz, studio manager of iSPACE. Within the scope of the project, there is close cooperation with various task forces of the state of Salzburg, such as housing subsidies, energy consulting or SAGIS.
