“Der Standard” on ULTIMOB & Airport 4.0

The Austrian daily newspaper “Der Standard” reports in a research special on two successful projects from the Research Studio iSPACE – Smart Settlement Systems: ULTIMOB and Airport 4.0.

For example, the Ultimob use case Leogang is cited as a successful example. In cooperation with the Salzburg Transport Association and the province of Salzburg, the project analyses the need for a “micro-public transport” system integrated into the environmental network. Together with the municipality, a flexible shuttle service was developed. The Loigom Shuttle has been in operation since September and offers an attractive service for locals and tourists.

The Salzburger Nachrichten report on BONUS as a successful project in the field of redensification.

In Salzburg, as in most cities, there is an increasing need for sensible and sustainable redensification to create new living space. This is why the BONUS project was launched. Together with the City of Salzburg as project partner, the research studio iSPACE – Smart Settlement Systems under the direction of Dr. Thomas Prinz developed an innovative post-densification consultancy, which focuses on potentials and mobilisation in the existing stock.

Austria Innovativ on ULTIMOB & Flughafen 4.0

Austria Innovativ, Austria’s leading magazine for science, innovation and research, currently reports on the ULTIMOB and Airport 4.0 projects from the Research Studio iSPACE – Smart Settlement Systems.

Both projects are about new, customised types of mobility and the question of how people can be convinced to use public transport. New scientific, data-technical and decision-supporting principles are being developed to support the planning and implementation of future-oriented mobility offers.

RTI Initiative “Showcase Regions Energy”

Austria’s goal is to be climate neutral by 2040. To achieve this, the Climate and Energy Fund is promoting innovative technologies “Made in Austria”.

At the annual event of the RTI initiative “Vorzeigeregion Energie”, which runs until 2025, an interim balance was drawn up on November 7, 2022 in Salzburg. This year, the stage belonged especially to those women who are active in the three showcase regions. First DoSSIER Summer School

Last week the 1st DoSSIER summer school was held after two years from the start of the project in the beautiful city of Olympiada in Greece. DoSSIER is an EU Horizon 2020 ITN/ETN project on Domain Specific Systems for Information Extraction and Retrieval which is being implemented via 15 Early Stage Researcher (ESR) projects led by 15 PhD students across 4 EU states in addition to the UK.

Follow-Up Project “Aufzonierungsgebiete”

For several years, the city of Salzburg has consistently pursued a strategy of settlement development based on internal and subsequent densification in order to meet future housing needs. A project team from RSA FG Studio Data-Science, in close collaboration with the Mozarteum University Salzburg, has considered how this process can work more efficiently and sustainably.
