Detailed Information

Twin4Clim: Urbane Digitale Zwillinge zur grenzübergreifenden Unterstützung von Gemeinden bei der Anpassung an den Klimawandel
(Urban Digital twins to support communities across borders in adapting to climate change)

Runtime: January 2025- January 2028

Projectpartners: TU München, Bayern Innovativ, Innovation Salzburg

In Twin4Clim, urban digital twins and application-related solution modules for proactive adaptation to climate change are being developed for municipalities. In this way, municipal decision-making processes in the area of structural development and redensification can be supported in a more targeted manner towards sustainable settlement development, taking into account heavy rainfall events and green infrastructure.

The solution modules are being implemented in three pilot municipalities in the Bavarian-Salzburg border region. An action plan with instructions for cross-border implementation of the solution modules for proactive climate change adaptation on the basis of cross-border harmonized Urban Digital Twins ensures transferability to other municipalities on both sides of the border. Cross-border transfer events and innovative formats by Bayern Innovativ and Innovation Salzburg, such as an innovation and start-up challenge, ensure a broad transfer of knowledge to municipalities, service providers, regional/national authorities, interest groups, sectoral agencies and the public.
