The role of the regions in the national energy transition was the topic of this year's Mission Innovation Austria Week 2024 in Stegersbach in Burgenland. The session on ‘Spatial energy planning as the key to measure-based municipal Co2 reduction pathways’ presented the results of the GEL S/E/P I and II project bundle.
Climate-fit is the buzzword that municipalities are using to create new solutions for the design of neighborhoods and settlements and to counter the climate crisis. In Carinthia, part of the iSPACE team provided insights and examples of how this can work.
The research results of the GEL S/E/P I and II projects were presented at the expert dialog on municipal heat planning as a building block of municipal heat planning. Ingrid Schardinger presented the heat atlas.
