The technical focus of his work is automatic feature recognition in diverse domains (audio/video, various forms of explicit and implicit interaction). In particular, he deals with the technical detection of cognitive states (human attention) and their role in the interaction with technical information systems (Attention-Aware ICT).
Benedikt Gollan graduated in Electrical Engineering & Information Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and has been working as a research assistant in the Studio Pervasive Computing Applications (PCA) at the Vienna location since April 2010. He completed his dissertation “Sensor-based Online Assessment of Human Attention” at JKU Linz in 2018.
